About the City
The city of Oakland is just 8 miles East of San Francisco. Oakland was known for its natural resource of oak and redwood timber in the 19th century. The Transcontinental Railroad’s most Western stop was in Oakland.

Oakland has overcome these hardships and is a city rich in culture and art. An increase in policemen in 2008 has greatly reduced crime. Oakland is known for a great blues music culture. Oakland connects to the Oakland Bay Bridge. The earthquake threat makes storage containers very important for emergency shelters and food/equipment storage.
