New Jobs and New Director at NY/NJ Port

A study done by the New York Shipping Association has shown a 3.5% increase in job generation at the United States Port of New York and New Jersey. This increase happened between 2008 and 2010 and it is great news for the shipping industry.

Fresh Food Exports to China

There has been an increase of 46% in refer unit shipments from the United States to China this year. In the first eight months of the year, the U.S. exported 53,381 refrigerated units to China, approximately half way split between meat and fresh produce.

New Orleans Port Sees Increases

The New Orleans Port handled the sixth largest volume of cargo in the country as recorded in 2009 by the American Association of Port Authorities. Gary LaGrange is president and CEO of the Port of New Orleans. This will be his tenth year as president of the port.
